Hello,
The painful lump can be anything from an inflamed Bartholin's gland, Bartholin's duct, an abscess and so on. A proper clinical examination only can reveal its true nature. Analgesics, antibiotics and marsupialization if it a gland infection or drainage if it is an abscess, usually help to relieve the problem. Sitz baths after the procedures accelerate healing. This situation is not necessarily due to PCOD. Polycystic ovaries respond well to hormone treatment, weight management and exercise. Hope this helps.
