What Does Persistent Brown Vaginal Discharge Indicate?

have been having brown vaginal discharge for almost 3 weeks now. It s not heavy at all but I need to wear a panty liner to stop it from messing up my underwear. I went to the doctor and got tested for stds and pregnancy and everything came back negative . He said there was bleeding from My cervix and it looked like the beginning of my period . I haven t had my normal period , just this and my period was suppose to end 6 days ago . What could be wrong ?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
The colour you have mentioned may be due to abnormal menstruation or God forbid endometrial cancer. But as your test have mentioned there is no infection and nothing. You haven't mentioned about your papsmear test results. For more information read http://www.webmd.com/women/guide/vaginal-discharge-whats-abnormal.
