General & Family Physician, Dr. Katie Lee's Response
Hello,
You may want to check for pregnancy test first, then once it is negative, you may also want to get vaginitis to work up to rule out any infectious causes to contribute to such discharge.
It may be old blood however if this continues even outside of your menstrual period time frame.
I advise you to get the work up to that I mentioned above done in addition to pelvic and transvaginal ultrasound to rule out other ovarian or uterus structural causes such as fibroids or cysts.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Katie Lee, General & Family Physician
