Hello,
You have a history of having
hypoglycemia recently. You are not diabetic. You have lost weight in the last 6 months. Most cases of
shortness of breath are due to heart or lung conditions. Your heart and lungs are involved in transporting oxygen to your tissues and removing carbon dioxide, and problems with either of these processes can affect your breathing.
However, it can also be due to severe anxiety disorders, anemia, cold air, allergies or asthma, etc. Shortness of breath is a symptom of
mitral valve disease and
cardiomyopathy, among other heart problems like
pericarditis,
heart failure, etc. Lung problems like asthma, pleurisy, upper
airway obstruction (blockage in the breathing passage) can also cause similar symptoms.
You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP to rule out or detect anxiety disorders, heart or lung problems, allergies, asthma, URTI, lung cancer, etc. Get all required swab tests, sputum tests, blood tests, imaging tests done so that the pathology can be detected and treatment can be started at the earliest.
Take home made balanced food, do not skip meals and make sure your vitals are normal. Avoid stress (both emotional and physical) as it may trigger your symptoms. Take adequate water and fluids. Take at least 8 hours of sleep.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
