General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Middle period (10-22 days) of the menstrual cycle is usually fertile, and chances of getting pregnant are higher if intercourse is done during this period.

If you are having unprotected intercourse during periods, chances of pregnancy increases. However, having menstrual cramps and mild bleeding can rule out pregnancy.

If you did not get regular periods in the next one to two months to do a pregnancy test using a morning first urine sample. If it is negative and the cycle is regular pregnancy can be ruled out.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Hiren Hirpara
