What Does Popping Sound And Sensation In Hip And Thigh Of A Teenager Suggest?
My 15 year old daughter is not very active but does do many flights of stairs during the school day and switches from building to building and class to class..she never had a hip or thigh injury but now recently pointed out a popping sound and slight sensation in front of her hip and top of her thigh.should we be worried?
These pops are common, especially in growing children, but just to make sure all is well you could schedule an appointment with an orthopaedic for further evaluation which may include a physical evaluation and possibly (only if he/she feels it necessary) an x-ray examination of both the hips.
But for now, allow her to rest well, avoid much weight bearing of the affected region and avoid playing, jumping, and other physically strenuous activities.
Best wishes.
