What Does Positive Igg Mean In A TORCH Test Report?
Hello We are planning to adopt a baby girl child who is 1.5 months old. We got her TORCH test done where her IGG results came positive and IGM results were negative. All other test HIV, Hepatitis B, CBC /ESR, CRP are fine. Can you please suggest what does this mean and should we proceed with it or there is any concern?
TORCH tests toxoplasmosis, cytomegalovirus, rubella. If one of this Ig G come positive she has been infected with it in the past but not having the infection active in that moment since IgM is negative.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
