What Does Preferring Loneliness And Laughing Without Reason In A Person Indicate?

I have son with Autism spectrum disorder who is 16 yrs old. Recently I noticed some differences in my wife s behaviour - trying to be lonely, occasionally mild laughing for no reason, etc., She is worried about the son s future always. I requested her to come for Psychiatric counselling, but she refuses stating that she is fine. Others also have noted the change with her. How to classify this condition - Depression or Schizophrenia. Occasionally I do notice that she speaks about irrelevant topics while interacting. What kind of medicine is recommended if she refuses to come for doctor s check up. How to deal with such persons if they refuse to take medicines as well.

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, for exact differentiation or classification clinical examination is must, but what the history is give here I could say that it is not the schizophrenia but is the depression and anxiety, psychiatric consultation is advisable hope this information helps.
