I recently started bleeding and I am 6 weeks preg doc prescribed duphaston 10mg .. I went for scan and there was no sign of pregnancy but on checking my hormonal levels there was a pregnancy am still bleeding and confused as to whether I have miscarriaged or still have the baby

At six weeks, a trans-vaginal sonogram should be able to locate the gestation sac and fetal pole along with cardiac activity. In some cases, due to poor visualization, this may not possible. In such an event, the sonogram is repeated after a week or two and the repeat test often gives positive result. The pregnancy hormone remains in the body for about 2-3 weeks after an abortion and this gives positive test for pregnancy even in its absence. You should wait for another week, get a repeat sonogram along with serial serum beta-hCG titres to plan further management. Doubling of titres every 2-3 days suggests positive pregnancy outcome.
