What Does Presence Of Black Area In Vision Indicate?
My husband came in from working out in the sunshine and said he had solid black areas in his vision. They are not floaters. He can see straight ahead but can t see the bottom of what he is looking at unless he looks downward. It then moved to him seeing squiggly lines, kind of shiny lines he said. He then started to get a headache and we were wondering if possibly a migraine was causing this? He does not typically get migraines.
Migraines can cause vision changes. On the other hand, because it is not common for him to have migraines and these vision changes it is best for him to be seen by a doctor first. He will need to have an eye slit lamp examination to rule out retinal detachment. If all is normal in examination then very likely there is nothing to worry.
I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
