Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had some blood in my stool and had blood work last week. My whites count was slightly elevated, my red blood cells were elevatted and my lymphocytes were low. I wasn t feeling too bad then except for back pain (s which is not u usual for me) Today, the back pain is worse in my lower back to the side. It hurts when I urinate. I have no fever and it is very rare for me to have fever. The sickest I can remember being with. pneumonia and a kidney infection with a white count of 36,000, my fever never went over 100. What could cause these symptoms along with fatigue. And why would I have blood in my stool and pain with urination?
The pain on urination and the blood in the stool may not necessarily be linked together, there may be two separate conditions present.
Blood in stool can be due to different possible causes such as: (1) infection (2)diverticular disease (3)benign lesions of the colon (4)cancer of the colon
The pain on urination may be due to an infection of some aspect of the urinary tract. An urine analysis would be needed to determine if this is the case. If confirmed a course of antibiotics would be needed.
I hope this helps
