What Does Pressure In The Chest And Upper Arm Indicate?

I started experiencing tightness in my upper chest and back and upper arms about a week ago. It subsides but keeps reoccurring. I have recently started using a CPAP machine and am trying to get used to it. The episodes seem to subside or be less extreme if I don t use to machine. The episodes seem to mimick pleurisy. My heart was checked a couple of months ago, stress test, pictures, overnight enzymes and all is good.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I passed carefully through your medical concern and would like to explain that you are right about CPAP regimen. Sometimes it is difficult to get adopted with the machine and adverse effects may appear such as chest tightness and discomfort. Coming to this point it is necessary to review the CPAP therapy regimen including machine settings and the recommended periods of respiratory support. Probably you don't need too much extended support. You should discuss with your attending doctor on the above mentioned issues.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
