What Does Prominent Linear Density In Chest Xray Mean?
Told that a chest xray shows prominent linear density is identified in the right suprahilar region, possibly hypertrophied upprer lobe pulmonary vein and that I should now get a ct scan with or without contrast. The earliest I can do this is Monday. Today is Friday. Should I be concerned and to what degree
You need not get tensed.. It is a regular practice to do CT scan chest if there is a suspicious opacity in lungs on X ray. This is most likely a vein but it becomes essential to have a detailed analysis keeping in mind your clinical problems. It is completely agreeable that the CT scan be done on Monday. A CT scan done with contrast is always better and clears all doubts which might have arisen after X ray. You may only get your serum creatinine levels checked before doing the CT scan. This is also a regular procedure followed before CT scan.
