Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can you tell me what this means? Technique: CT of the soft tissues of neck was obtained in axial plane after intravenous injection of 75 mL of contrast material(Isovue 300). Coronal and sagittal reformatted images were obtained from the axial views for evaluation of soft tissues of neck in sagittal and coronal planes. Findings: The palatine tonsils are prominent bilaterally extending into the lingual tonsils, which is causing minimal narrowing of the oropharynx. There is no focal mass and the tissues are homogenously enhancing. There are no pathologically enlarged lymph nodes. The submandibular, parotid, and thyroid glands appear normal. The fat, tissue planes of the neck are well-maintained. The visualized intracranial structures and orbits are unremarkable. There are no suspicious osseous lesions. Sagittal and coronal images confirm above findings. IMPRESSION: Minimal narrowing of the oropharynx secondary to prominent soft tissue. This is favored to represent lymphoid tissue as there is no focal mass and the tissue is homogenously enhancing. There are no enlarged lymph nodes within the neck.
