What Does Pulsation And Pain In The Neck On The Left Side Indicate?

I have left side fast pulse and night especially and can t sleep because of it. I also get a funny cramp in the lower left side of my neck. Approximately 2 inches from Adam s apple. I have to hold it to work thru it. I m thinking I need to see a doctor. This is not normal and has been going on for a while now. No extra stress going on at this time. Thank you very much.

But better to get done ultrasound of neck to rule out any internal pathology.
If ultrasound neck is normal then no need to worry much.
