What Does Purple And Blue Color Veins Underneath Mouth Indicate?
Hi, I m a 24 yr old woman. I just gave birth about a month ago. Today brushing my teeth I notice the veins underneath my mouth were dark blue maybe even purple. I have 3 other children. My activity level is not that active. Why is this? What does it mean?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain the veins present under the tongue that are appearing blue and purple and lingual veins and one such vein is present on either side of midline of the undersurface of tongue.. It is not an abnormal structure and such appearance is normally seen in all individuals..
At some times the veins can become dilated and tortuous and can appear more prominent but still they are harmless and do not need any specific treatment..
Therefore, you need not to worry as the lingual veins are normal anatomical structures and not any pathology..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
