What Does Purple Discoloration Under The Face Indicate?

the skin on my face underneath the eye turned a reddish purple....I can cover it with makeup but want to know what could have caused it. I did not fall or hit my face with anything...it was there when I awoke this a.m. I am not on plavix or any drug like that. I am on a daily 81mg dose of aspirin. Is this anything to be concerned about . Thank you

Hello,

You may have developed periorbital eczema or rash or allergy.

Check for the drugs or skin cream or moisturizing cream for allergy.

Other possibilities are also there like periorbital rosacea, allergic conjunctivitis or psoriasis vulgaris.

Please consult your Dermatologist who will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
