What Does Pus Cell 4-5 Hpf Suggest?

My 1-year-old baby just had acute gastroenteritis and dehydration with liquid diarrhea just a few days ago. After a stool test done ordered by a physician, we found pus cell 4-5 hpf. Bacteria present (+). Would you kindly suggest what can this pus cell cause to him and how to get relief from this?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Acute gastroenteritis is caused by infection of the gastrointestinal tract.
The stool examination yields presence of pus cells and bacteria.
Pus cells are acute inflammatory cells which are increased in cases of infection.
Presence of bacteria in the stools is further suggestive of bacterial infection.
You need to consult your physician with the reports for prescription of antibiotics.
In the meanwhile take care of your diet.
Avoid food outside and take hygienic food and clean water only.

Thanks and take care
