What Does Pus Cells- 20-25/hpf Indicate?

From "Pus cells too many to count" to "18-22/hpf"

hello doc. my lab result on 10/6/2011 said my pus cells was too numerous to count; rbc-0-1/hpf; epithelium-squamous-moderate; bacteria-moderate; sp gravity 1.010. on my next urinalysis on 10/13/11 pus cells- 20-25/hpf;
rbc-0-1/hpf; epithelium-squamous-moderate; bacteria-moderate; crystal- a.uretes-few; sp gravity 1.030. on my urinalysys earlier today 10/20/11pus cells- 18-22/hpf;
rbc-0-2/hpf; epithelium-squamous-moderate; bacteria-plenty; sp gravity 1.030. what do these results (trend) mean? should i be nervous?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The interpretation of urine analysis report is as follows:

The multiple urine analysis done of several occasions detects presence of pus cells.
Pus cells are acute inflammatory cells or neutrophils which are seen in bacterial infection of the urinary tract.
Red blood cells are few ranging from 0-2.
Red blood cells suggest presence of bleeding in some part of the urinary tract.
Bleeding could be due to stones , trauma, or growth.
Epithelial cells commonly accompany infection.
Presence of plenty of bacteria further confirms presence of bacterial infection.

The specific gravity of urine has been within normal limits on all occasions.
I would suggest you to consult your treating doctor with report for prescription of antibiotics.
