Sir, i have 3.6 yrs old daughter, she got fever last 15 days back, when consulted to doctor, doctor asked to go for blood & urine test, blood test is normal but in urine test microscopic exam shows pus cells 18 to 20% hps. what does it mean and is it serious problem? please reply
Hello Thanks for your query,based on the facts and report of urine examination of your daughter that you have posted it appears that she has acute UTI .
Please get urine culture done to find out the organisms causing this infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to.
Please give her broad spectrum antibiotics like Cefexine along with urinary antiseptic like Nitrofurantoin twice daily and urine alkaliser thrice daily.Later on switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.
Get the prescription of medicines from your family Physician.
Ensure she drinks more water.To keep her urine dilute This will help to control dysuria.
