Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I went to my cardiologist clinic for a 24hr bp monitor. My bp was around 180/110 but we had major trouble getting a reading. No reading from my left arm and one reading from my right. The person putting it on used a mechanical sphygmomanometer and got the same reading if 180/110 And said that my blood pressure was really quiet which is causing the problem. She redid it mechanically and did it twice again with the digital device i would have on for the period. As I left it would no longer read just stating error. This keeps happening and I haven t had one good measurement in 2 hours when it s doing it in 15 minute intervals. I am 24 yo with a bicuspid aortic valve and a decent dilation of ascending aorta and mild regurgitation from all but pulmonary valve. I also have a chronic spinal injury causing me to be mainly bed bound for the past year and a half. 2 questions, what does a quiet pulse mean And what causes it? And what does it mean for me with my particular details especially as I am obviously going to not have results from this test? Thank you kindly.
