What Does "MULTIPLE SMALL SUBCENTIMETER LEVEL 2" Mean?
My dad has gone through total laryngectomy with thyroidectomy and post radiation all was well.. After 6 months pet scan was done all was well nd nw after 1 yr made a Ct scan nd it says MULTIPLE SMALL SUBCENTIMETER LEVEL 2 and 3 lymph nodes are seen bilatererally-? What does it mean?
Lymphnodes in the neck are grouped as level 2,3,4,5,6 based on their position in neck and they can increase in size in multiple conditions like infection, radiation, inflammation etc, to mention a few conditions.
Subcentemeter is the term used when the size is less than 1 cm, mostly they are harm less. But your treating oncologist need to follow them up closely. Some times, if they grow, an needle test may be required.
