What Does "lower Posterior Wall Shows Large Intramural Fibroid" Indicate?

my wife got ultrasound result With maternal uterus -lower posterior wall shows large intramural fibroid almost measuring 10.5x9.6cm, and the doctor gave her cyclogest and yutopar. Please give me a brief regarding the mother and the baby futurity ( she is now 5 month pregnant) and also the possible future risk.

Hi, thanks for writing..
Since there is a very large fibroid in the lower segment of uterus there can be some problem which requires close monitoring.. This include sudden onset of pain in the region of pain. Secondly it may prevent cervical dilation which causes difficulty in normal labour. It may end up in CS. If it is CS, long with delivering the baby, fibroid also can e removed. In fetus, do to compression of uterus, it can cause fetal growth restriction in some. Hope I have answered your query.
