What Does "urinary Bladder Is Moderately Distended" Mean?
Hi, 36 years old, single, a stage 2 breast cancer survivor. Yesterday i had my whole abdomen ultrasound and it says that my urinary bladder is moderately distended. What does it mean and what are the causes? Is it alarming? I have an appointment with my doctor on Friday but i want to have knowledge about it so I would fully understand my condition. Thank you.
1.Urinary bladder should be fully distended to evaluate the pelvic organs. 2.Full bladder means when you feel urgency to pass urine - but in your case when you had your scan you have been moderately filled bladder. 3.What happens in moderately filled bladder is all pelvic organs can not be assessed appropriately - like ovaries and uterus to full extent. 4.In this case some ask patients to drink water and see again after 20 - 30 minutes, some will perform scan all depending on the experience. 5.Its not at all a pathological feature in your report - its a normal condition of the bladder.
Good luck. Hope i have answered your query, any thing to ask ? do not hesitate to ask. http://doctor.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-ganesh/62888
