What Does Recurring Growth Of Scab Below The Kneecap Suggest?

I have a growth just below my kneecap the size of a penny. It s been there for years. It will continually grow a scab an if exposed to extended periods of moisture, I can peel it off like a band aid. This gives it a medium rare steak appearance and an opportunity to grow a new scab. This is usually a four to six week cycle.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

You can avoid recurrence of scab by keeping it clean by gently washing with soap and warm water, avoiding picking or scrubbing of scab, moisturizing the scab by moisturizing cream, applying compresses, along with a good nutrition and adequate rest.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Satnarain Bansal, General & Family Physician
