Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a red, raised bump on my eyelid right on my lashline. I called my m.d. and she said to use warm compresses . well, its been almost a week and its still there. also this is accompanying my sinuses being congested, too.I have taken sudafed but its only temporary relief. I am somewhat concerned about this red bump, as my m.d. told my its probably only a stye?
I have read through your query and from the description you have provided, its highly likely to be a stye. I would suggest you to do the following: - wash your eyes repeatedly with cool clean water multiple times a day - avoid rubbing your eyes, as if its infected it might spread and cause conjunctivitis. - you may start on OTC ciprofloxacin eye drops one drop thrice daily for 5 days. - you may also artificial tear drops two drops daily to keep your eyes moist and to prevent itching if any - make sure not to use the same towel for the other eye too.
It should resolve in a weeks time. Hope this helps
Kindly revert back for any further queries Thanks and regards
