What Does Red Strings In Stool Indicate?
Found red strings in my babies stool. I want to know whether it could be blood. She had had brown strings in her poop and from what I ve read that is indicative of digested banana. Baby is 10 months old I have found blood in her stool before and she had a dairy and egg allergy. I have stopped eating dairy and eggs

The red strings in diapper can be due to stools or urine. If the baby is bringing out too many cristals with the urine she will have pink to orange coloration of the diapper. A urinalysis would be a good test to see this.
Bowel can be the origin of the red strings and in this case a fecal occult blood test would be helpful to diagnose it. We need 3 negative occult blood tests to have some insurance that there is no blood in stools.
If baby is having some rash on the diaper area this might be the cause of the red spots in diaper also and you need to have proper treatment for this if this is the case.
Some food when they are digested cause red coloration in diaper so if normal urinalysis, and negative stool tests for occult blood and the child is happy and eating well and growing and developing well, very likely there is nothing to worry.
