What Does Repeated Vomiting, Post An Accidental Fall From A Sofa, Imply?

My child is 17 months old and two hours ago he fell down from sofa of 3 feet high. He was not unconcious after the fall but cried a bit and was normal. Half an hour later he vomitted and now again he vomitted. He was not vomitting before the incidence. I am worried about his vomitting. What should I do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The height you describe is not so much to cause serious problems if a child falls from it and very likely no serious injuries have happened.

On the other hand, because the child was not vomiting but now after the incident, he is throwing up, it might be safer to just have him visited by a doctor and make sure all is well.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
