What Does Right Ventricle Enlargement In The Heart Mean?
My niece is 14 months and she is having breathing spells where she holds her breath when she becomes upset, turns blue and passes out. She was taken to a neorologist and she has abnormal WBC. We found out yesterday that the right ventrical of her heart is enlarged. What does this mean and what is the prognosis?
Such episodes are common among children till 5-10 years of age. If they are not followed by convulsions, usually no intervention is required. You need to consult an experienced pediatrician and continuously follow-up with him/her. I think the enlargement of the ventricle should be interpreted only on going through the complete report and correlated symptoms, if any. More often than not, it is incidental.
