What Does Scanty Menstrual Bleeding Indicate?

I am in my mid-30s and typically my periods lasts about 5 days, are heavy and I have severe cramps in the beginning however for the past two months my periods have been very spotty meaning I have very little to no blood on my pad but when I go to the bathroom blood comes out in the toilet and my cramps aren t as severe. I have had 1 abortion, 1 live birth and 1 miscarriage (in that order). I have never had this happen before now and am concerned because I would have another child.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

In my opinion, common conditions under which rectal bleeding are -

- Endometriosis (also you could have nausea, cramps)
- hemorrhoids
- colon polyp (rarely).

In my opinion, you might have endometriosis as per your condition. It is advisable to consult gynecologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
