What Does Severe Abdominal Pain Indicate?

I have had abdominal pain for 24 hours. Is increased severity of pain an indication of anything? Symptoms started as abdominal pain with nausea. I did have three drinks with dinner Friday night (very unusual for me). The nausea went away after 12 hours. Replaced with headache at back of my head. I took 2 hydrocodon-acetamophen and the headache improved and allowed me to sleep a bit. Woke up with more severe abdominal pain and thirst. Just threw up again.
