What Does Severe Bleeding After Using MTP Kit Indicate?

my wife has used MTP kit under doctor consultation. She had a lump of flesh cleared out after using it. after 14 days did a USG and the results was clear. there was no high bleeding since then but sometimes small clot bleeding was there. today she suddenly had high bleeding and a membrane type something came out with the blood. Any suggestion what to do now. my doc is out of town and unreachable by phone. pls advice. my wife s age is 30.

Thanks for writing to HCM.

Well, it takes a couple of cycles to clear off all the contents of conception after using MTP kit. Even though the ultrasound results are clear, there would be some remnant tissues which would have been not cleared and might not have been able to detect through ultrasound.

So you need not worry much about this right now.
She should have normal periods as before after a couple of cycles.

In case that doesn't happen, kindly consult Gynecologist for evaluation and management.
