What Does Severe Itching All Over The Body Suggest?
I am developing an overall body itch and don t quite understand Been taking Percocet 5/325 for at least3/4 years now. With no real side effects Maybe 2 a day rarely 3 Any ideas? Itch starting to drive me crazy recently Pharmacy switched brand of generic
Though the generic would have in the same important ingredients, the additives that are usually in most medications maybe different because of the different manufacturing companies.
This means that the side effect profile and your reaction to the medication may be different.
The only way to determine if this is responsible for your itching would be to discontinue this and either restart the other formulation that you used before or another medication. If the itching is related to this medication, then it should stop by day 3 of discontinuation of the medication.
If it is not related then you may have to consider looking at other possible sources. Allergy tests can determine if you are allergic to something else
Other causes of generalised itching are liver or kidney disease, infection, thyroid disease
I hope this helps
