What Does Severe Itching On The Neck And Face Indicate?

I get sporadic bouts of intense itching on my neck and face followed by considerable flaking and peeling. This happens even when i con t think of anything different going on in either my environment or diet. I have wondered if it could be one of my medications. What are some causes of a problem like this?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You might be having some allergic rashes. Allergy can develop due to several reasons, some foods like egg, fish, pollen grains, or animal hair, or nylon and terylene clothes can trigger allergy.

Just try to find out what you are allergic to and avoid it. Try home remedies. Apply coconut oil daily three times a day for one week.

If you still not better, then consult a dermatologist. It can be fungal infection or eczema.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sanjay Kini
