Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Does Severe Pain From The Hips To The Thighs Indicate?
I have had increasingly severe hip pain with pain going down my thigh. I had an injection for bursitis but had no relief at all with the pain. I have had to stop taking walks and am having sleep interrupted as I wake up with the hip in a lot of pain. I m not sure what I should do from here?
Pain in the hip may be due to arthritis or avascular necrosis or bursitis or labrum tear etcetera. Until examination, is done it is difficult to say what it is. Need to be evaluated by x-ray of a hip joint, MRI of the hip joint, thyroid profile, serum cholesterol, and sugar levels etcetera. Use Tramadol with paracetamol twice a day for five days. If symptoms not improved, please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
