What Does Severe Pain From The Wrist Through The Hand Indicate?
Every once in a while I get a shooting pain that runs through my wrist and hand when I would push down on something. Starting around last Friday, March 9th, the pain in my wrist would happen more frequently. And now if I turn my wrist a certain way or do a certain task the pain isn t so dull. It feels like a shooting pain through my wrist and the side of my right hand. I think it may be carpal tunnel syndrome. What do you think?
1) Use cold packs, and rest the wrist 2) You could take Diclofenac for the pain 3) Get your clinician/orthopedician to evaluate your wrist. He would probably give you steroids for the same( either oral or an injection). 4) Before that, you could look up online, on YouTube about physiotherapy for the wrist you could do at home.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Pranav Balakrishnan

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. Your symptoms seem consistent with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. You could do the following: 1) Use cold packs, and rest the wrist 2) You could take Diclofenac for the pain 3) Get your clinician/orthopedician to evaluate your wrist. He would probably give you steroids for the same( either oral or an injection). 4) Before that, you could look up online, on YouTube about physiotherapy for the wrist you could do at home.
