I have had inner ear pain for about 10 weeks it is combined with a stuffy nose. About 6 weeks ago my vocal cords started hurting, I have a dry cough. Now 1 week ago I loss my voice, and it has come back. Been taking decongestants and Norco’s and I-8’s for the pain. What in the world do I have?

Hi, Thanks for tehe query. I understand your concern. You seem to have common cold with probably secondary infection wuth bacteria... spreading to throat to cause laryngitis (loss of voice) &dry cough.Involvement &block in eustachian tube (joining ear to nose /throat ) leading to ear pain. Inhalationof vapor /antiallergic pill with decongestants (like synarest)over the counter should reduce ear pain. You need blood check up &detailed ear,nose ,throat examination to know involvement of the parts &severity of the problem ..& adding antibiotics as per need to the treatment. Please consult your family physician./ENT specialist. Thanks.
