What Does Severe Pain In The Groin Area Indicate?

I have pain shooting up my groin. I m thinking UTI because over the past few days I have had frequent urges to urinate. Also, I saw the GYN about a week ago. She did a urine test and there was a high level of bacteria then. Not enough for her to diagnose UTI but they can develop over time, yes?

Hello,

Yes, it can even develop over time but we cannot surely tell your groin pain is due to that only or not.

If there is a hernia, then also you will have groin pain first. If you have kidney pain, then also you will have loin to groin pain. Even appendicitis you will have right groin pain.

So, we just cannot rule out vaguely it’s due to that. If you have burning micturition, then it might support your diagnosis, if you have UTI then you can take an antibiotic like Ofloxacin, Levofloxacin, Clindamycin, etcetera which can treat the infection for 5 to 7 days.

Get a prescription for the above drugs in the nearest hospital. Maintain vaginal hygiene, use V wash after urination. Use Citralka syrup 6 to 8 times per day with water.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Archana
