Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had severe groin pain for 4-5 weeks. My Dr had an ultrasound done showing 5 swollen lymph nodes 2 of them larger than 2 cm. Gave me antibiotics and said wait 3-4 weeks to see if it improves. She also ordered a cbc test . Do I need to get a 2nd opinion? I m not able to take care of myself due to the pain, yet at some moments when resting, it only feels like pressure. Cannot walk upright, and barely shuffle along.

What Does Severe Pain In The Groin Area Indicate?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. Inguinal lymphadenopathy can be due to STDs, Hodgkin lymphoma, over metastasis. Full body evaluation is to be done for lymphadenopathy with biopsy to confirm the diagnosis and then treatment modality can be planned. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Bhadresh Lakhani
