I am 56 years old, for the last some years, I was feeling pain like needle penetration within the knee joint of my left leg, now suddenly on one afternoon, I was exposed to cold breeze and next day at morning I was with great knee pain. I visited a doctor and after taking x-rays, he told me about development of knee gap. please advise.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be due to arthritis or joint effusion.

As a first line management, you can take analgesics like Paracetamol or Aceclofenac for pain relief.

If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopedician and plan for an MRI scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
