What Does Severe Pain In The Right Shoulder Indicate?
My husband is a healthy 48 year old man who has had a sudden onset of acute pain in his right shoulder, to the point where he thought he may have dislocated it. He can t move or use his right arm without severe pain. ER took an xray, which showed no indication of dislocation. He now has a lot of swelling and bruising on his right shoulder. He was not engaged in any type of strenuous activity prior to this happening. Any ideas?
I think your husband is suffering from bursitis. An ultrasound scan is often the most helpful investigation to confirm subacromial bursitis. MRI scan may also be useful.
Try to have rest and don't move it much. He can take anti-inflammatories such naproxen for pain and swelling.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
