What Does Severe Pain In The Right Shoulder Indicate?
i have been having severe pain in my right shoulder and scapula area along with the top of my right arm. occassionally it will be the left side too My husband just came home fromt he doctor and was told he was being put on liptior but to be careful as it may effect his shoulder and upper arm. I have been on lipitor for about 3 months an the shoulder stuff started about a month after I started could this be caused by my lipitor
The most common adverse effect of Lipitor (atorvastatin) is muscle weakness. But specific shoulder and scapula pain do not solely justify being caused by Lipitor. Was there any recent trauma? Like lifting heavy weight or closing a shutter involving heavyweight load to the shoulder? Also, look out for any shoulder movement restriction. Since the pain is radiating to the right arm, there is a possibility of paraspinal muscle spasm or cervical spine strain due to trauma. Is the power of your right hand? Is as normal as before? If these reasons are there consult an orthopedician.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Shakeel Khan
