General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello there I have read through your question and would like to tell you that the pain you are experiencing in your tongue is neuralgic pain which may be due to damage to the glossopharyngeal nerve. You should get yourself assessed by a neurosurgeon . If diagnosis is confirmed you may be put on Gabapentin or carbamazepine to control the pain. If not relieved by medications you may be required to undergo microvascular decompression or nerve Rhizotomy which are small surgical procedure s. I hope that answers your question. If you have any further questions please feel free to write. Thank you for choosing healthcare magic.
