What Does Severe Pain In The Upper Back And Leg Indicate?

I have had acute shooting burning pain that has woke me from sleep once and has been there for about a week. It is not constant be seems to occur from touch even from the shower. It started on the left side of my upper back and now at times shoots down my back to the top of my leg. It feels like electricity.

It is sciatica, signifies compression of your sciatic nerve bcs of disc prolapse or vertebral osteophytes..have an x ray ls spine .physiotheraphy is better option， take tab.tolperitas once daily or in case of severe pain..if its very severe prolapse, then surgery may help.
