What Does Severe Pain On The Right Side Of The Neck Indicate?
Hello, I have been having a stabbing pain in my right side of neck - feels deep pain although is tender to touch - it doesn t appear to be lymph node although it radiates from neck to the right ear. Ear feels achy. headache. tired. painful swallowing. Almost feels like something is stuck deep inside my throat. when I stick out tongue to see throat in mirror I notice that right side of tongue doesn t depress as much as left? maybe swallow throat?
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. Possibility of musculoskeletal pain is more likely. But better to get done ultrasound examination of neck to rule out any internal neck pathology. If ultrasound neck is normal then no need to worry much. Follow these steps for better symptomatic relief in musculoskeletal pain. 1. Sleep with soft cushion. 2. Avoid sudden jerky movements of neck. 3. Apply warm water pad on affected areas of neck. 4. Wear cervical belt for immobilization. 5. Take painkiller and muscle relaxant drugs like ibuprofen and thiocolchicoside. Don't worry, you will be alright with all these. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
