Hi. I ve been having this weird sharp pain on the left side of my sternum for the past like two days and just recently under my left scapula has been having that same sharp pain. It s made worse when I let to much air out of my lungs or if I take to big of a breath. Any ideas what this could be? Im only 18 but I have history of heart disease in my family.
It might be an attack of costochondritis. As a first line management, you can take analgesics/anti-inflammatory combination like aceclofenac/serratiopeptidase for symptomatic relief.
If symptoms persist, better to consult a physician and get evaluated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
