Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Does Sharp Pain Radiating From Back To Pelvic Area Indicate?
I am experiencing pelvic pain on the left side. It is sharp, radiates through to my back and shooting pain that feels like it shoots through my urethra. I am 2 weeks late for my period. I don t have a fever and I m not bleeding. There is a fullness in my pelvic region and it is tender to the touch. I am experiencing fatigue. I had a tubal ligation in 2003. Worried about ectopic pregnancy.
Because your periods are late for 2 weeks now, you need to have a urinary pregnancy test first. If the urinary pregnancy test is positive, please see a doctor as soon as possible.
If the urinary pregnancy test is negative at least the symptoms are not due to pregnancy and in this case, a urinalysis and an abdominal ultrasound would be helpful to check for urinary infection, urinary stones and also to check the ovaries.
I hope I have answered your query and have been helpful to you. Let me know if I may assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj General and Family Physician
