What Does Sharp Pain Under The Ribcage On The Left Side Indicate?

Hi and thank you. I continue getting a sharp, stabbing pain under my left ribs that radiates to my side and back. It s painful enough for me to have to press under the rib cage and I feel a bit nauseous. It s been recurring for a few weeks and is extremely uncomfortable.
