What Does Skin Discharge From Vagina During Periods Indicate?

I just got on my birth control about a month ago and I got my period for the first time since I ve been on it and when I went to the bathroom to change my tampon a pretty good size piece of skin thing came out with it. Do you have any idea why or what it is?

Hello,

Skin discharge from vagina is very very unusual. You might have used any exfoliating cream or lotion. Exfoliation is not recommended in vulvar area. It might be large blood clot chunk. So if it happens again, you can contact a gynecologist and have physical clinical examination.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
