What Does Slight Vaginal Bleeding While On Birth Control Pills Indicate?

I started birth control this month, and four days after starting I had un protected sex(he pulled out) and I know there s still chances. But I got my period Monday night. It came 5 days early. Can this be a sign of implantation bleeding? Or is my body just adjusting to the birth control?

Hi
Thanks for posting your query on HCM
Birth control pills are very effective,if well taken, though efficiency not 100% . However, a well described side effect of birth control pills is breakthrough bleeding especially in those just starting with pills.Your body is expected to adapt in a few months .Implantation bleeding could be another possible cause.I will suggest you take a pregnancy test.If negative, then your symptom may be a side effect of your pills.
Also, if symptoms persist and associated with other symptoms like pelvic pains, funny vaginal discharges... you see the Doctor to exclude an STI/PID.
Hope this will help
Best regards
